Great place to eat. Never have to wait to get in. Food really is delicious. I'm not sure why it's never very crowded. I believe it used to be a McDonald's.

  • *****

Great buffet, this is where I go if I don't want to worry about food quality because it's always good.

  • *****

My husband and I had an early supper here. It wasn’t busy. Food was really good. Large portions. Not as salty as some Chinese food we have had. Really good egg rolls. Crab Rangoon was average, but let’s remember it’s only crab, cream cheese and a wonton skin. Walnut shrimp was delicious and the Taiwan noodle dish was really good. We will go back! Brought home enough for two more meals.

Ordered from doordash yesterday usually have a hard time finding decent Chinese but this place was good ordered 2 general tso chicken and beef lo mein . Was worth the money will be back

Love this place. I do not get in the area often. But the Lychee Martini is a must, if you have not tried it. I always get one!

We absolutely love this restaurant. The people who work there are wonderful and the food is incredibly great.

  • *****

This is the best Chinese buffet left in Columbus, even adding a couple new items since I was last there. Service is good and prompt, and there is ample parking.

  • *****

I got there right when it was opening. Food was fresh. You could tell it wasn't left over from the day before. Very delicious and staff, waitresses we're very friendly and attentive. 2 adult with drinks was only $24.08. worth every penny.

  • *****

This is one of my favorite places - every time my friends and I come to eat here, we get “our spot” in the corner, all the staff knows us, they’re super friendly, and the food is awesome! Large portions and their happy hour is great too. Definitely a hidden gem, highly recommend for a quiet, fast, friendly, delicious experience!

  • *****

Love this place. Love the food. Always plenty of food for dinner order. The chicken wing appetizers is the best we've ever had; hot, crispy, extra large wings with jalepenos. It can be a meal in itself. Also love their house pan fried noodle dish; noodles extra crispy with chicken, shrimp and beef and lots of veggies.

  • *****

Best buffet in town. All their dishes are great. My favorite is Hunan beef and Thai spring rolls.

  • *****

The food has been consistently good when I've dined in or had take out. The buffet is awesome & much more value friendly if you happen to be there during the week for lunch. If you don't hit the buffet the entrees are kind of pricey, but also large portions, so you can split an entree amongst two adults to be frugal.

Restaurant itself is pretty outdated, not dirty, just aged.

    Favorites:
    Sesame Chicken
    Pot Stickers
    Chicken Fried Rice

Could be the best in town. Have had several meals at this establishment and it is consistently great. The Szechuan Duck tonight was fabulous.

  • *****

One of the better buffet in Columbus. Excellent food and nice staff. Just need wonton soup on buffet.
    Will come back.

We've only been in Columbus 2 years so haven't eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants. However the few times we've dined here we have been pleased with our dishes and the service. Sometimes Chinese dishes can all start tasting similar but we found each of theirs to be fresh and different from each other.

  • *****

Near chef-quality Chinese in a buffet setting. I've been going to Eastern Bay for years. It used to be even better, but the soups and appetizers have changed. Still good, but used to be worth driving across town for.

  • *****

Quite good. Got a bunch of tasty food and was delivered to a brewery. Would eat again.

  • *****

Very good food. Very friendly staff and owners... I now find myself stopping by about one night a week!

  • *****

Best kept lunch buffet secret! Great for dinner also.

  • *****

Very fresh and tasted food, haven't have good Chinese food for so long, friendly staff, will be back.

  • *****

Good buffet and large lunch specials. Buffet closes at 1:30. Will go again.

  • *****

The service is amazing. They never let me and my family down. The girls here know our exact order down to the t of what we like and do not like in our food. It's amazing. I come here often.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant. The owners, Roy and Michelle, are the sweetest and Roy has really amped up the menu. They have a very nice dining room and a very popular lunch buffet. We have tried almost everything on the menu and the flavor additions Roy had made take everything to another level. We just tried the new salt and pepper
Shrimp, hands down the best shrimp I have ever had! Make sure you try them when you come in!

  • *****

Awesome buffet during week days for lunch. Decent prices and very friendly staff!

  • *****

Awesome staff, awesome food and great atmosphere!

  • *****

Better than average Chinese food very friendly and great service alsobvery fast. Reasonable price. Thai mini rolls are a favorite.

  • *****

Wonderful staff. Great food. Huge portions. The interior could use some updating.
Eastern Bay had become are "go to" source for take-out as well.

  • *****

Very good food. My favorite local Chinese food restaurant by far!!! Highly recommend the tempura shrimp, among others.

  • *****

Great place to eat! Buffet was fresh and the staff were attentive.

  • *****

One of my weekly lunch place to meet with a friend. Never been disappointed here. Good selection on lunch buffet

  • *****

Good food if you like mixed Chinese/American.
    Staff is friendly and helpful.
The lunch buffet is cheap and the food delicious. Not a large buffet however it is more quality over quantity.
My wife and I enjoy frequenting this establishment for their lunch buffet.
    Would recommend.

  • *****

My husband and I went today for the first time and OMG it was amazing! The service was awesome and the food was so fresh and tasty. We live 2 hours away and have no Chinese food close to this at home!

  • *****

My favorite! Near my doctors office, so I schedule my appointments around lunch time. When I’m really craving good Chinese food I’ll make the drive anyway.

  • *****

Consistently high quality food at a moderate price. I've been eating there for years and have never been disappointed.

This is our second visit, and everything we've tried has been excellent. Very fresh veggies, delicious sauces that enhance without overwhelming the food. I highly recommend everything I've tried:

    - Tom yum soup with shrimp (very spicy!)
    - veggie egg roll (crispy!)
    - garlic eggplant (enough food for at least 3)
    - home style tofu with veggies (teen loved it)
    - veggie lo mein (so flavorful, fresh, not oily)
    - Hunan chicken (mom loved it)
    - stir fried bean sprouts (more filling than you'd think!)

Every meal was huge-mom's leftover chicken had to weigh at least a pound! Once again, we'll be dining happily on leftovers for days!

Very good. Maybe dine in mushu wont be almost soup? Good vegi items good vegan/ital/pesc. Actual dudes from hong kong and up north working the line. Legit; as long as you let them know.

We ordered carryout and this is our new favorite restaurant! The online ordering was easy to use and the food was great!

  • *****

We have ordered for years from this place!
Many delivery services and now they deliver!
The best chicken corn soup on the planet!
We have never had a bad meal!
This is our go to always!
They may be a little strict on sauce sides, however..
    Yum to the menu?
We've probably ordered the entire menu after living downtown in the Arena District for 12 years!
If you have a bad meal, let them know!
    EB..this Robert in Arena!
    We love your food!

  • *****

I love this place! The lunch buffet is the best. I'm very picky when it comes to Chinese food, but this is probably the best I've ever had.

  • *****

They have a large Chinese buffet that is good and inexpensive. You can also order off of the menu.

  • *****

AMAZING!! We had 45 min to grab food before we had to get back to a game at the Guard Tower and my husband and I sat down, were served our drinks fast (I had the zombie and it was amazing). My husband took our orders and literally after he took our order we used the restroom and came back and he was just walking out with our food... I was speechless! Service was wonderful I had enough food for 2 meals (beef chow-mein) cooked to tender perfection! I would say this is the fastest and on par service we have ever received. And we made it back right on time with enough time to sit and talk for a bit at the restaurant.... will be going back again.

  • *****

Good food, portions and pricing. Friendly staff and great atmosphere!

  • *****

Best Chinese food in Columbus! Everything is flavorful and fresh. I like the seafood fried rice (real fried rice made fresh, not the mass made yellow rice), shrimp egg foo young and veggie dumplings made with spinach paper. The staff is nice and there is plenty of parking. They deliver but you can also find them on Postmates and other delivery service websites.

  • *****

Never too busy and always great fresh food! Me and my wife will continue going whenever we want Chinese food. There is none around that is better for the price.

  • *****

Soooo Yummy!!! Seriously one of the best in Columbus!

  • *****

New owners have jazzed up the recipes a bit not so heavy enjoyed everything!

Great food, Good Service! Very friendly server and everything came out hot!

  • *****

We absolutely love this place. The food is wonderful, the owners as well. Roy has revamped much of the menu and is planning on adding even more dishes. His red curry is wonderful and the Thai mini rolls are delicious. Haven't tried anything yet, we haven't loved. And they deliver within 5 miles of the restaurant. Go...enjoy...!

  • *****

Go here every chance I get. Recipes have changed with the new owners, some for the better some not. It's consistent and good.

  • *****

Food was pretty good, good price especially if you go for the lunch buffet

  • *****

Great food. Reasonable $. Friendly but quiet + efficient service. Quiet space.

  • *****

I love this place! Every single delivery has been right on time. The staff is very nice as well. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

  • *****

Probably the most consistent buffet in the city, and by far the best in the immediate area. Of all things, the chicken wings are simple and delicious. Good service, nice atmosphere.

  • *****

Buffet only on Mon and Fri lunch now, too bad, but we had a very nice dinner. In fact, my daughter said: "THIS PLACE WAS FREAKING AMAZING! All the sauces melted in my mouth and then came together and BAM, it was the Big Bang of flavor! I highly recommend it and say it is the best place I've ever eaten! All of it was just delicious and the crab Rangoon, the BBQ ribs, the beef-on-a-stick and the sesame chicken were delicious! The place was calm and the music was quiet. I give it 5 stars and one great big SSLLUUUURRRRPPPP! "

  • *****

Great service , food was ????. I would recommend Eastern Bay highly.

Update 7/14/17: sweet and sour sauce has improved (thanks for listening to the feedback)! All the items on the buffet today were incredibly good, and I heard other people commenting as much in the restaurant. I'm upgrading review to 5 stars! Especially good were the sesame chicken and General Tso's. I can now definitively call this the best weekday Chinese lunch buffet in Columbus!

    Previous review:
This place has the best crab rangoon in Columbus. Go for the buffet during weekday lunch hours....you won't be disappointed. Some high demand items you need to watch out for as they go fast. Only disappointment is that the new owners don't put out the good sweet and sour sauce that used to be out with the crab rangoon and egg rolls. They've replaced it with a duck sauce that is not as tasty or complementary. The rest of the food is very good though!

  • *****

    Nice food great price

Excellent food and service! I highly recommend the pork with garlic sauce.

Okay, I fully realize this isn't the most authentic Chinese food out there. Authentic or not, it's very very tasty! Their shrimp always tastes fresh, and they have an option for white meat only for the chicken dishes. Great vegetable dumplings, too. The fried rice isn't too heavy either.

Tonight I tried them for delivery through Bite Squad, and ordered the General Tso's Shrimp. A bit sweeter than my preference, but a little soy fixes anything. Anyway, my sauce came separately as to not make the shrimp soggy in transit. I very much appreciate that!

  • *****

Great buffet but has changed in last few months. Still lot of food on buffet.

  • *****

    Awesome Food and Friendly Staff
Long-Time customer.....one of our favorite restaurants. Everything is very fresh and they are willing to customize dishes. Lunch buffet is usually very busy....which is a good thing....but much more relaxed for dinner. Wide menu selection and everything served piping hot. Tell manager Terry that David sent you.....

I've been there probably 8 to 10 times, and the food has always been quite good. The szechuan beef w/jalapeno peppers is killer and I get it almost every time. Somewhat more expensive than your average chinese at about 11 to $15 an entree, but the portions are pretty good. Overall, definitely in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurants in the city.

You may recognize this building's former incarnation as a McDonald's, but don't let that put you off. My husband and I have ordered carryout from Eastern Bay once a week for 5 years and have had absolutely no problem with the food.

While most of the menu options seem a bit "cookie cutter"-ish, the quality and service is consistently good. The interior is simple, but clean and spacious. We've eaten in with large groups and also been tucked away in a booth for cozy dinners together.

I'm not into buffets, but a few friends DO partake of Eastern Bay's lunch buffet and claim to like the options. It's not a big buffet, but offers all your standard Chinese dishes. We usually eat dinner here. Sometimes I even make the effort to order my food in person, so I can sit at the bar and have a drink. Again, the bar itself is nothing fancy, but they do carry the full range of beer, wines and spirits and, as far as Chinese restaurants go, they make killer Bloody Marys!

I come here because I appreciate the attentive service. The waitstaff is extremely friendly and never forgets a face... in fact, I think she even recognizes my voice on the phone! The prices are quite good too.

Overall, I give Eastern Bay a high rating for consistency, if not originality.

I'm a great big fat person, and have eaten at many, many Chinese buffets. Hands down, this is the best Chinese buffet in Columbus... too bad it's only a lunch buffet, or I'd go here more often. Keep in mind, it's still a buffet, so don't expect gourmet Chinese food; but, for a buffet, it is excellent.

  • *****

I love this place! We usually get carryout, but have dined in once. No complaints, everyone was very nice, and the food was good- much better than Peking House. We used to go to Peking House until they became cheap, and there was pretty much no chicken in the sweet and sour chicken. So in searching for another Chinese Place, we found Eastern Bay, and absolutely love it every time!

  • *****

I was turned on to this place last year when I started working in the area, since I have been going at least once a week to every other week.

It is a buffet, the food is buffet food but in my opinion definitely one of the better buffets out there.

  • *****

Nearly every time we are down visiting my parents, we grab some take-out from Eastern Bay...and every time it is quality Chinese take-out.

Tonight's order included sesame chicken, General Tso's chicken, Hunan chicken and cashew chicken. Every dish was prepared as requested and very tasty. I highly recommend getting white meat and the sauce on the side for the General. Egg rolls are solid, as is the crab rangoon.

There may be better Chinese restaurants in the Hilliard/Upper Arlington/Grandview area, but Eastern Bay has been consistently solid in my experience.

  • *****

Decided to check this place out for their lunch buffet after always driving by. I believe they only have a lunch buffet during the week, and then a Sunday buffet.

I was pleasantly surprised! Since it's not a full-time buffet, there is not a ridiculously large selection, but everything I had was tasty and hot. My friend and I got here a little before 11:30am on a Friday, and by the time we left it was so packed people were having to wait. Definitely get here early if you can, since this place seems like a popular lunch joint!

Have not had their standard restaurant food, but the buffet is definitely a step above your average Chinese buffet.

When we are in the mood for Chinese food, we drive from Lancaster to Eastern Bay, and have been doing so for many years. Although the management has recently changed, we have found the quality of the food and service as good as we have come to expect.

When if comes to the food, nothing we have tried in our area compares.

I thought after about 10 visits in the last 18 months I should update this review a bit.
When you first pull into the parking lot, you can quickly tell this building use to be a McDonald's. But don't let that sway you, it looks very nice inside.

I don't claim to be an expert on Chinese food so I don't make any claims about ethnic authenticity. I only go at lunch time as this is close to my work. I think this is one of the better Chinese lunch time buffets in Columbus. The simple point here is everything I try tastes good, its well cooked and hot. The service is always good. I always leave full and happy.

A REALLY GOOD CHINESE LUNCH BUFFET...!!!

My wife asked "what do you want for lunch?"

I responded "this may sound strange, but I'm really craving a good Chinese buffet".

Little did we know that almost every Chinese lunch buffet on our side of town is gone. We searched Yelp, and even Google, and literally called 8 different Chinese restaurants that appeared to have a lunch buffet.

Every single one has either discontinued their buffet altogether, or only do buffet on weekends. Darn, I was really craving...

About to give up, I made one final "hail Mary" 9th call to Eastern Bay. A very friendly lady answered and said "why yes, we're doing buffet right now".

    Score!!!

I've driven past Eastern Bay hundreds of times, and never stopped in. The interior is quite a bit nicer than the dingy exterior. We walked in, were greeted promptly, and shown to a table.

Service was very attentive and friendly. Some other reviews have commented about service late at night - I don't know about that - but there were plenty of servers at lunch, our server was very friendly, and she probably stopped by 6 separate times to clear plates and ask if we wanted anything else. Our service was very good.

The food on the buffet was fresh and replaced often (important on a buffet), very tasty, and there was a really nice selection.

The restaurant is nice, and clean.

The buffet is very fairly priced at $8.90 per person during weekdays.

We were thrilled. Couldn't be happier...

Yummy food. Fair prices. Friendly and attentive service. All in all, a really good place.

    We'll be back often...

The food was pretty good. I had the Singapore Noodles. A little spicy, but not overwhelming.

The service was fine. I noted that the server checked on our table after we received our food, but didn't actually ask how we thought it was.

The dining area could use a bit of touching up. The seat I had was split.

Note: The buffet is only for lunch.

Prices for dinner ranged from about $10 to $20, unless you are getting the whole Peking Duck, which is $36.

Eastern Bay is my go to lunch buffet. I have been frequenting it for 2 years for lunch. I was introduced to it through a coworker who took me there for lunch. Back then I thought ok just another American Chinese buffet who cares lets check it out. I was hooked right away.

The buffet offerings are very flavorful and always refreshed during buffet hours. I have also tried the menu and it was great but I do admit I'm addicted to their buffets since it works better with my work schedule and my time being in the vicinity. That coworker has since quit and stopped going. I text him from time to time and tell him hey I kept the tradition, traitor!

The restaurant had a recent ownership change in the summer/fall timeframe and it has been consistent and even better since. The previous owner was very nice and chatty and I think she has retired, I was told. A salute to that. Michelle, the current owner, is very nice, friendly and always welcoming. They have also improved the buffet offerings and introduced additional classic options. There is a great deal of authenticity to their food and I think they make it with more than the average passion. Love is poured into it if you will and that all sounds great by me.

I just wanted to add, I did not bother reading other reviews because I was already an established regular customer here coming once a week, but I just scanned through them and I am quite puzzled if they are even rating the same restaurant. Are you even serious right now?. I guess negative people will always find something to whine about, true or not, so it is all perception.

Final note, I happen to be one of those "lucky" ones with nuts allergy. Walnuts would absolutely kill me as well as peanuts (to a lessor degree) so I like how they describe the buffet entrees and contents. When I started going there I asked the former owner and was directed to which items contained nuts. This is important to mention, because I have dined at places where I was assured there was no nuts in food only to find 30 minutes later when I start getting a reaction with a severity dependent on amount exposure. I got my EpiPen and allergy pills in the car especially when I dine out just in case. Point is, Eastern Bay is another authentic Chinese cooking where use of nuts or sauces/mixes containing peanut oil, etc is very common in the cuisine and so far I had no incidents. It is crucial that you dine at a place where the management is aware of what the kitchen is using in their cooking. I can't speak the same for other places!

The new owners are focused on what matters -- the food! It is excellent! Fresh and highest quality ingredients! With time there will be new signs and new menus, but for now the only thing that counts, the food, is new and is now my number one Chinese restaurant in Columbus!

  • *****

Great flavors! Good prices! The buffet is got our miss these days, but overall completely worth the visit!

  • *****

Tasty Asian food. Quiet, you can actually talk with your fellow diners. Gets consistently high ratings by the Board of Health as one of the cleanest restaurants in the area. (Knock off one star for slow service, or keep it at 5 because you can enjoy conversation while waiting.)
